I'm getting back into the business of chatting away about lots of minecraft stuff so I'll be posting some stuff about new mods and how Minecraft is official now and all that fun stuff!

Tornado Mod

The tornado mod is a crazy awesome mod! It's made by CordonFreeman and is only in the early stages of development but is very very cool. Here's a review of it on youtube so you can actually see how it works but I'll also be explaining it here. Basically there are two new craftable items, the tornado gun which is crafted by putting a string on top then a stick and another string on bottom in the center of a crafting table. The tornado gun is the real milestone of this mod and when you right click on the ground it will suck up all the surrounding dirt, gravel and sand and bring it up and spin it around everywhere and then send it flying everywhere. The other new item is called the worm gun and is crafted by putting three feathers diagonal on the crafting table. This item when held and right clicked on the ground makes a worm that is made of fire go out and crawl/ float in the air, it was probably some sort of way Cordon checked to see how the physics were working. Portal Craft Updated!

This mod was originally really awesome but now thats it been updated it is so much more like the portal games. The pistons are just sick. They make it so much like portal. The turrets are really cool. They as well add to the authenticity of this mod and they act like the turrets do in portal, they have red beams that come out of them and move around and lock onto you and shoot at you. It's pretty decent. Theres lots of levels that are different then eachother and lots of fun and don't be so, wanting to kill yourself difficult at times. As you can see there in the distance are emancipation grids which actually function properly and have moving blue rays like in the game. The portal gun works just like the one in the game as well except when you shoot the portals you cant see whats going to be on the other side of them like you are able to in the actual portal game.

Forgot to mention about Notch getting sued. I find that irritating to say the least especially since it seems to be over something so stupid. I really hope this doesn't effect any future updates and programming and I hope Notch and the team make it all out alright. Tree Spirit Mod

This mod looks really cool. Basically it introduces a new kind of tree into the game that takes off damage when you touch it but don't fret! Just craft a flower on top of an axe and you have a holy axe that can cut down the tree and by cutting the leaves you get golden apples! Finally a way to get apples! ;D. When you get some holy wood just craft a sword but put a golden one on bottom and two holy planks on top and you have a holy sword that is way better then any other kind! Now you're wondering how can I get some minions to do my bidding probably. Well all you have to do is craft a golden apple on top of a seed and then you get holy seeds. Lay down the holy seeds and you get a tree spirit which is a little wooden moving thingy. Hit it with a seed until it has hearts over it's head and then it's yours.Be warned though there is a chance you can spawn an angry one which will try to attack you. But if you're lucky and have a nice little guy then throw down some sticks to it to give it a sword or a bow so it can shoot arrows to help defend you. Or alternatively you could give one a sapling to make it a "healer" that will heal its fellow comrades.Or obsidian so they can resist fire. Also if you beat a boss you get a staff that you can give to one that makes it a mage.  You can also make an assassin tree spirit but that requires a dark ball to be given to one at night. There is also a big hard to beat boss you can fight by laying down a dark orb to spawn it. Heres a video that explains this mod pretty well.

The Aether

The aether mod looks pretty sweet I have to say. What with all the new items and a flying pig! That's pretty neat, seriously. So since I think its pretty awesome I think I'm gonna do a little tutorial type thing where I just talk about whats in it. Alright so first of all the Aether mod basically makes another realm like the Nether but it's in the sky instead of the deep bowels of the earth. Some of the different types of mobs in the Aether are sky whales which just flaot around and make cool noises, "flying" pigs that you can put a harnass on and go for a little fly, a few new types of slimes that drop new items, a type of bird that you can get eggs from incubate them and then ride them and three new types of dungeons.
